Marietta Iacucci is a gastroenterologist trained at the University of Rome “La Sapienza,” with a PhD from the University of Tor Vergata and Imperial College London. She has worked across Europe and Japan and moved to Canada in 2011 to join the University of Calgary, where she established an advanced endoscopic platform for IBD and cancer. Since 2016, she has been a Reader in Gastroenterology and Honorary Consultant at the University of Birmingham. Her research focuses on advanced endoscopic imaging, polypectomy, and IBD management, and she leads the Inflammatory Gastroenterology theme at the NIHR Birmingham Biomedical Research Centre.
